To fulfil the needs and wishes of both English speaking and Dutch readers, this and the Dutch magazine Het Bonsai Blad (below) decided, in the summer of 2000, to collaborate in a joint publication. A European spirit prevailed, and was reflected by our editorial staff and authors: with names like Ann Scutcher, Dan Barton, Colin Lewis, Bill Jordan, Michelle Andolfo and many others enhancing the pages.  Name changed from Bonsai on Jan.1, 2002 (issue 54).  Over 12,000 copies to over 45 countries worldwide.  The Dutch language edition was released in the summer of 2000 with Hein Dik Barentsen as its editor; the French language edition in Spring 2002 with Michel Sacal; the German edition in May 2003 with Krista Leach; and the Italian lagnuage edition with Massimo Soranzio.  Merged with Bonsai Today in 2007 to become Bonsai Focus.
